Maj Mohammed Ali Shah
Major Mohommed Ali Shah is a Second Generation Officer who volunteered and joined the Indian Army in the Corp of Artillery. He was posted along the line of Control Indo Pak Border. He saw active service and Operations posted in the Assam Rifles in the North eastern part of the country. He was awarded a commendation card for his meritorious service to the nation.
He did his schooling from Lawrence School, Lovedale and graduated from the Fergusson College, Pune. He is also an alumni of the prestigious IIM Calcutta and has done Theatre with Thespians such as Tom Alter and Naseer Uddin Shah ( who incidentally is his father’s younger brother). He has acted in Theatre and films too, and is a visiting faculty at Subhash Ghai’s “Whistling Woods International”.
Major Mohommed Ali Shah has acted in FTII alumnus Shriram Raghavan’s “Agent Vinod”, and in Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Haider” which won 5 National awards apart from several other prestigious film awards. He has recently completed shooting for National School of Drama alumnus and National award winning director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s latest film “Yaara”. Major Ali won the coveted award of “ Best actor” at the prestigious Delhi International Film Festival, “Best actor” at the International Film Festival of Prayag apart from a ‘Special mention by jury and critique’s” for outstanding performance, and “Best actor” at the Aligarh Film Saaz International Film Festival.
